First Day of School

I know it has been almost 2 weeks since school has started, but I finally got the pictures off my camera to blog about, so...

Miss Macee (my baby) started Kindergarten

Maddy is in the 3rd grade

Tyler is in 6th grade (big man on campus!)

They look so cute walking to school!

I have yet to enjoy all my kids being gone at school due to me having a part-time job working at scrapbook.com warehouse! I really enjoy the extra money, but all the projects and things I planned to do are now on the back-burner. Well, at least for a bit. I have tomorrow off, so I am going to tackle some scrapbooking and Wednesday I start school. Nothing hard, just a sewing class while I'm waiting patiently for the Nursing Program!

Gun-fi

We just enjoyed a few days of rain last week and one of the mornings Macee insisted I come look out the back window. So I go over and look out and she shows me some mushrooms growing near the window. She said, "Look! Mushrooms!" and I asked her if she knew what mushrooms were and to that she replied (without skipping a beat) "Gun-fi!" Silly girl!

Macee's Preschool Graduation

Macee graduated from preschool this year and is heading to Kindergarten this next school year! She really enjoyed Miss Renay's (or as she called her "Sister Renay") class. She had 8 classmates and became good friends with them... especially the girls! She looked forward to going to school everyday she was suppose to go and wished she was there on the days there was no school! It's no wonder when "Sister Renay" is the most kind-hearted, loving teacher out there!

Gila Valley Temple Open House

We decided to make sure the kids got to go to the Gila Valley Temple Open House b/c...
1. it's a great opportunity to show them inside a temple and get them excited to go inside someday

2. it's down the street from g-ma/pa Melser!

So we enjoyed a day trip down to hang with the family and see the temple! It was a great weekend.

btw... my favorite part of the temple was the light fixture in the brides bathroom... so beautiful!

Twin Day

4-23-10
"Twin Day" at school.
Maddy and Tyler decided to be twins!

I think I'm back!!!

I really want to scrapbook
but can't seem to get in the mood to do it
(probably the many distractions surrounding me)
so maybe I'll just blog
I bet you all can't wait
to get caught up with the Melsers!

Happy Independence Day!!!

I was so super excited that 4th of July was on Sunday this year! It meant having fun dressing me and my girlies up!!!

But first there was Saturday...

We enjoyed celebrating on Saturday with the Mortensens... we went to our ward party where we had breakfast, listened to a presentation on the flags and had a little kid "parade" in the parking lot. Then we went swimming, had a BBQ and played games. As dark time came, Fawn and I decided to send the dads with the kids to the celebration downtown and to see the fireworks and we stayed back so I could do the irrigation.

Now... onto Sunday!
I made my girlies matching skirts...

and bought myself a fun dress...

The girls said they got lots of compliments at church on how patriotic they looked! I had the material I made their skirts out of since Macee was 1!!! I was going to make her a dress for the fabulous 1st birthday... but as you can see it never happened, so it was perfect for cute patriotic skirts!

Tonight we went and sat at a retention basin with our BFF's and enjoyed a night out to see the fireworks from a nearby church. The weather was actually cool! Perfect way to end the 4th of July weekend!

Someone is T-I-R-E-D (spelled out)... "I'm not tired" says the 5 yr-old!!!
So home we went and there was no complaining about going to bed!

Would we be classified as...

DISNEYLAND FREAKS???

I say yes... because any chance I have to go I go and any chance I don't have to go... I plan on going. So, when Chuck called me and told me he was asked to work the Anaheim Dental Show, I was ecstatic because it meant that i could go to DISNEYLAND!!! Of course there were stipulations... we would have to give up the San Diego trip that was planned for Spring Break and I had to convince the kids. Well it wasn't hard to "convince" the kids, so plans changed and 2 months later than planned, we had a great family vacation. Well... if you want to call it a family vacation, because Chuck worked 3 1/2 days of the 6 we were there. But it was all good. He hooked up with us in the evening when he was done and the kids were super good for me! This is a long post, mostly due to pictures and very few comments. So enjoy the pictures of our family get away!

I decided Macee is a thrill seeker! She loves the fast rollercoasters!

Jungle Cruise... a must with our family!

"Billy Hill and the Hillbillies"
This is a great picture showing how enthralled Maddy was and the flirting she was getting right back in return. We sat on the front row and my girls were flirted with the whole time while these AWESOME guys were performing! BTW... if you haven't taken a break to watch this show, make it a priority for next time you go. It's in the Golden Horseshoe (right by Thunder Mountain), they have tables to sit at, a place to buy food (Rootbeer floats are our favorite treat there) and a cool place to sit and relax while being entertained!

"Big Thunder Mountain BBQ"
This is a new place we found. I have more info on it and a bunch more pictures, so I will do another post just about this place!

Flying on Dumbo

My wild animals

One of the many new "dolls" you will spot in Small World.

Maddy loves to volunteer to do anything that will give her attention. She volunteered for this super cute traveling show in CA Adventures. The kids were all recruits for new toys for Andy's room.

Maddy's new favorite ride! Maliboomer!!! She couldn't get enough. But she had to talk Tyler into going or wait for her daddy because there was no way I was going on it!

On Mickey's Fun Wheel (formerly the Sun Wheel)

What Macee and I did while Tyler and Maddy went on CA Screamin'

The jellyfish from Nemo in Pixar PLAY! Parade

Jesse and Woody in Pixar PLAY! Parade

We stayed at Desert Palms Hotel this time around. Chucks work paid for our stay due to him being there for business and we enjoyed it immensely! The breakfasts were to die for! The yummiest waffles I have ever eaten, scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, pastries, oatmeal, cereals, pancakes, toast, yogurt, cottage cheese, juices, milk... WOW!!! Totally worth it! And it is on the backside of CA Adventures, so the walk isn't very far at all!

The mysterious juice that showed up in our fridge!

The pool

The spa

My idea of relaxing!

A visit at the convention Chuck was working at!

Cotton Candy + Mickey's Fun Wheel = What makes Macee happy while the big kids go on a ride she cannot go on!

Watching the fireworks

Both my girlies got chosen to participate in "Drawn to the Magic"
(a cute little show in Hollywood Backlot).

5,4,3,2,1... Tyler & Maddy on CA Screamin'

See ya later!!!

Upside down!!!
The next few pictures are from the the new parade called "Celebrate! A Street Parade"
They have audience participation and the kids LOVE it!

The Twist!

The Conga Line

My girlies wanted to get their hair and make-up done at the Princess Fantasy Faire, but I'm a frugal mom... so I did their hair cute and put make-up on them before heading out to the Park and then I bought each of us a tiara (which we all wore the rest of the day), and I had instant princesses and they were happy!

In the home of the future

All-in-all we had a great time!
We are ready for the next trip...
and with the purchase of annual passes again,
we get to enjoy a year full of Disney Magic!!!

My Morning...

7am... wake-up to "mom... i just puked."
That was Macee.
I asked her if she puked in her bed...
she said, "no, on the tile."
Ok... good... easy clean up.
She feels a bit better.
I'm still not feeling good, so I go back to bed.
(Side note: I have been sick for 3 weeks now...
can't get rid of this crap!)
Chuck comes in and asks if I'm ready to drop
the suburban off to get fixed.
Really I am not, but know I have to anyways.
So off to Mesa Auto to drop it off.
We've been to Mesa Auto all too often lately,
they know us by name...
That's been a trial we've been dealing with...
but it is a whole other story!
Get back from there, decide to get things cleaned up...
Suppose to have the missionaries for dinner...
Trying to decide if Macee is really sick or it was a fluke...
Decide it is not a fluke when she walks into the dining room
and pukes again...
luckily on the tile once more.
Easy clean...
Throw her in the shower to clean her up...
Do her hair up in a fun bun thing just in case of more puking.
Call the Barnwells
Ask if they still were up to have missionaries tonight
I'm quite sure they don't want to be in our sick infested place!
She gladly accepted! Thanks Renay!!!
One stress off me!
Tyler offers to watch Macee while I run for sodas at Circle K.
Maddy comes with me...
Didn't know that would be bad...
But it was...
We were filling up sodas...
she said she needs to go to the bathroom...
nice... asked where the bathrooms were...
we need one quick!
What??? No public restrooms?
Well if you don't want puke on your floor...
point us somewhere!!!
So they let us use the "not for public" bathroom.
Maddy doesn't make it all the way...
She stops and pukes right in the doorway!
Nice... I'm shoving her to get to the toilet...
She's freaking out
(Maddy is not a calm puker! DRAMA!!!)
I get her to the toilet...
Trying to hold open the bathroom door with my foot as I rub her back
If the bathroom door shuts, the puke will smear... GROSS!!!
After a bit she decides she's done.
I clean up the floor by the toilet and the toilet seat.
All while trying to stil keep the door open with my foot...
Maddy is freaking out at the sink because she needs a tissue...
I get the mess inside the bathroom cleaned up.
Ask Circle K lady if there is anything I can use
to clean up the mess in the doorway
She says there is probably some paper towels...
Well DUH!!! I knew that much.
So I'm down on the ground with paper towel
after paper towel cleaning up puke...
I ask Maddy...
so did you have a pickle yesterday after I told you no?
Yes, you have been caught...
mom notices what is in puke!
Finally get the puke cleaned up...
Get our drinks and come home
to put the kids in front of the TV
And drink my LiQuiD SaNiTy!!!
Something I wasn't going to do today!
