Because I don't want to forget...

Macee has us laughing about multiple things daily...
I can't remember most things she says,
----------
...but yesterday I was holding her and looking at her face
and I told her she has such pretty white skin.
She proceeds to tell me that it is not white,
to which I respond, Oh? And she tells me it is black.
Who would've known I've had such a cute little black baby all this time!
Btw... I find little black babies completely adorable,
but will never have biologically :(
So Macee is my pretend one!
----------
...and today I told her she really needs to stop biting her nails
and she proceeded to tell me (without skipping a beat)
"But they are my favorite snack!"
There you have it!
----------
She makes me smile...
and sometimes drives me nuts...
but I always will love her...
Jackie or Heidi...
whomever she may be at the given moment!

This is for Autumn!

Macee's Placenta! Super cool, huh?
Now that's one HUGE belly!!!
Macee was 9lbs... and when my water broke it was all over the place and then my doctor came in and checked me and said let's break your water... I told him it already broke and he proceeded to make another hole in the sac and more water came rushing out! Crazy, eh???

Not that this picture means anything, but it is my desktop picture on my laptop and I kinda like it!

OK... now I'm tired and I should be going to bed!

Sick Macee

This is how Macee has looked since yesterday when she started to not feel good... zoned out and exhautsed. We needed to get out of the house for a few minutes this morning, so I packed her up in the suburban with her blankets and off we went. I couldn't resist some pictures of her miserable self. Even though this cute little girl is running a fever of 100-102 (she refuses to take medicine!)... she can still pull funny faces for the camera. But her eyes say it all... She's sick!

Temple Service

Our stake was assigned to work on the Temple grounds on Saturday, November 14th. We decided to take the kids and work with them and teach them about service. We talked to them about the importance of keeping the Temple grounds looking beautiful.
We are all working hard!
Tyler really got in and got his hands dirty! If you can tell from the picture above, our assignment was to make a ring around the tree that was free of grass and weeds. They looked so nice afterwards! Maddy had fun finding worms!
Macee had to help dig as well!
--------------------
The Christmas lights will be turned on the day after Thanksgiving, so if you have not been down to see the display, I encourage you to take an evening with your family and go see what a great display there is. There is also always a musical performance starting at 7pm that lasts about 30 minutes. The address of the temple is 525 E Main St, Mesa AZ (phone# 480.964.7164) or check it out at http://www.mesachristmaslights.com/

Maddy's Baptism

Maddy chose to be baptized by her daddy on September 12, 2009. She picked out a beautiful dress for this special occasion. She was so excited for this day for a long time and now she is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Showing off her beautiful new dress!!!
Maddy's best friend "E" got baptized the month
after her and we had to get pictures of the 2 girls together.
We are sad because she no longer lives next door...
but thankfully her g-ma does so we get to see her every so often!

All MADDY!!!

So I'm feeling like a terrible mom... I haven't posted about Maddy's birthday (#8) and her baptism. First I must tell you 10 fun things about my Crazy Lou!!!
----------
1. She loves to do art... in any form. She is always creating!!!
-----
2. She is friends with everybody... and makes new friends FAST!
-----
3. She is very tender-hearted.
-----
4. Her favorite color is purple... for it means royalty!
-----
5. She is in the 2nd grade and is enjoying her class...
she is quite the social butterfly from what I've been told!
-----
6. She loves to sleep in (especially on school mornings).
-----
7. She has the most beautiful skin tone and beautiful thick hair!
-----
8. She is practicing to be a gymnast on her own right now.
She has a knack for it, that's for sure!
-----
9. She has a determined mind to do the things she wants to do.
-----
10. She is learning how to babysit by helping out with
Macee and finding ways to keep her entertained.
-----
I couldn't even imagine my life without this sweet Maddy Lou around! I'm so grateful my Heavenly Father sent her to me!

A Ballerina???

My conversation with Macee on the way home from the gym this morning...

Macee: I wish we could do something else today.
Me: But I have a big test to study for.
Macee: I wish you didn't go to school.
Me: But when I'm done with school I'm going to be a nurse!
Macee: I don't want you to be a nurse... I want you to be a ballerina!

I just laughed... what do you say to that?

Wacky Hair Day 2009!!!

My kids love Wacky Hair Day at school and this year they were actually allowed to wear hair color, so we went all out!

Tyler chose a colorful mohawk...

Maddy didn't have a choice, but loved my choice when all was said and done!

And Macee couldn't be left out of all the fun... so she is my rockstar!!!

A normal sign in a weird place...

So when I go to Target out on Power and McKellips, as I'm turning left (in a left turn only lane) I see this sign. It makes me laugh! I assume it is for the next turn lane up (just in front of the sign that is a left turn lane for the opposite direction of traffic). But from this aspect, it may confuse the driver.

Oh a hiking we will go!!!

So... as you might be aware, Chuck and I were asked to be "ma & pa" for the upcoming pioneer trek for our stake this October. To help us prep physically for this trek, we have some different hikes to participate in. The first was "A" Mountain... Chuck did that one and I stayed home with the kids. But the second was Windcaves at Usery Pass. We took our kids and well as M&M from our ward (I teased the girls cause I was surrounded by M&M's... my girls and well as the girls from the ward). Macee pretty much got a free ride to the top (she is a princess you know!) and the others did good hiking up by themselves. We made it to the top, enjoyed the view and headed back down. It was an easy hike.
Macee coming up the last little bit.
Mean 'ol daddy made her hike a little bit on her own 2 feet!
The crew at the top.

Yup... I was there too! I'm just usually behind the camera.

Macee's promised M&M's at the top.
Whatever gets her there!
----------
Then last week we did Squaw Peak. This time we left the kids home and took an extra YW with us! This hike was quite tough, as it is pretty much straight up (coming down was the easy part). But I made it (and so did all the girls) and I'm glad I did. The view was GORGEOUS!!! The weather was beautiful... we couldn't have asked for a better day! It was about 77 out and breezy/windy and it ended up raining on us! BEAUTIFUL!!!

See the rain??? My house was getting a good storm at this point.

There's another cell out there. The lightening was absolutely AWESOME!!!

Chuck and Rob on the highest peak in Maricopa County.

We made it!!!

K, M & M... they all made it to the top!

Me and my girls, K, K, M, me and M.

Happy Birthday...
