My Little Infomercial...

So Maddy came to me this morning after watching an infomercial on Lasix... here's our conversation.

Maddy: Mom you know that doesn't cost any money... it said no money down.
Me: (not awake enough to want to explain) oh?
Maddy: Yeah... it will change your vision
Me: oh?
Maddy: And it will change your life!
Me: giggle... giggle
Maddy: Then you won't have to try and find your glasses in the morning!

She is such a silly girl! She makes me laugh. The Lasix infomercial has even my 7-yr-old w/ perfect vision SOLD!

A "Lock" of Love...

"Mom, I want to cut my hair short." Wow... that was random... I didn't see it coming. My Maddy has been working very hard at growing her hair out. But I always told myself that if my girls want their hair a certain way (within reason) I will let them do what they want to do. So I thought about it and made her think about it and I came up with a plan! If it was long enough to donate to "Locks of Love" she could do it! I told her about "Locks of Love" and she was super excited! And it was long enough (has to be at least a 10 in ponytail)!!! So on April 28th, we ventured over to our "hair lady" and set out on Maddy's quest!

Here's her before picture! Both front and back.
Now... gathering it back into a ponytail.
Are you going to be brave Miss Maddy???
It's long enough!
Here we go...
It's going...
going...
going...
GONE!!!

There is her 11+ inch ponytail!

I love her new hair do! It's so fun for her! And best of all she LOVES it too! Perfect for the summer... although I have to round brush it and can't just brush it and leave it down! But since she is super cute, it doesn't matter to me!

Adding in the summer blonde!

I always color my own hair through the Fall/Winter... but when Spring/Summer hits, I gotta go get some blonde added in.

Beam me up Scotty!!!
Highlights of red and blonde setting in!

And the final product! I sure love it! It's fun and SASSY!!!

Colossal Cave...

We decided for April Break this year to take a day trip to Tucson to take the kids to see Colossal Cave. We surprised them with the trip (which we rarely do because I'm super excited about it!). It ended up being a super windy day there, but we battled the wind and looked at everything we possibly could there. It was a fun trip for anyone who is curious about it... just pack a picnic lunch and head on down... although it is warming up and being in Tucson, remember... they are as warm as we are! But anyways... back to the story... well... let's let the pictures do the explaining!

The map of the cave...
The entrance of the cave.
Stalactites are the ones hanging from the ceiling
(because they have to hold "tite")
Stalagmites are the ones going from the ground up
(because they "mite" meet up with the hanging ones)
I learned that easy trick to remembering!
My outlaws!
Oh- and yes, I was there as well... I'm just always behind the camera!

Wished for warmer weather...

Just wanted to share some pictures from Chuck's work party. Every year they have it at Sunsplash (or Big Surf) and the weather had been in the high 90's all week... so we assumed great weather! WRONG!!! It was in the 80's and very breezy that day! I got in the water at the beginning, but then decided to retrieve my camera from the locker and start snapping pictures! I'm glad I did... as we never have pictures from Sunsplash!

I think we tired them out!

Crazy girls!!!

I braided the girls' hair after their baths one night and this is what result we got! I love it!

Sweet Sisters!

Pat's Run

Chuck participated in Pat's Run again this year... I decided to sit with the kids and wait for him... that way the kids would get to participate in the .42 mile kids run following the big 4.2 mile run. While we waited for Chuck the kids played in the kids area.
The big double slide... Tyler and Macee

Maddy and Tyler climbing the rockwall.

Chuck w/ his kiddos before the kids run. He ran w/ Maddy and Tyler and I "ran" with Macee (meaning she was tired w/in .1 mile and wanted me to carry her the rest of the way).

Our family after the kids run. I'm proud of Chuck for doing this every year. He beat his personal best time (from the year before last... remember slow KaraLyn was w/ him last year!). I'm grateful that he is active and sets an example for his kids by participating in this event and signing them up to be a part of it as well.

My little helper...

This little girl is so cute!

Easter 2009... The bunny didn't disappoint!

So... my kids are use to the Easter Bunny leaving clues hidden in eggs, sending them on a scavenger hunt, to find their "baskets". This year, I thought the Easter bunny may be a bit tired, but he/she pulled through!

On the scavenger hunt.

Finding their "baskets", which turned out to be their very own Camelbaks! YEA Easter Bunny!

Finding eggs at Grandma Nichols Easter party. We held it at a church building and turned off the lights and the kids found the eggs scattered around the cultural hall using flashlights!

Update...

My jumpdrive was found and I'm finished with my Photoshop projects... they are printed and I just need to mount them on posterboard and get the files put on a CD and I'm DONE!!! As for Human Anatomy... I got a 162/150 on my last practical (didn't see that one coming... I must be a good guesser) which has me sitting with an "A" still and I just have to get a total of 128 points out of the 260 left to get... YUP I could get a 50% on the final test and still get an "A"!!! Does that mean I'm not going to study? No... I always have to do my best no matter what, but I'm just not as stressed anymore! I feel the end coming and it's going to be a breath of fresh air! YEA!!!

I will come in and update my blog (maybe this weekend) when we get our new hard drive in the main computer and I can access my pictures again!

As for all the special moms out there... have a
Happy Mother's Day Weekend!
I hope everyone treats you as special as you are!

MIA...

That's what I have been for the past I don't know how long. This semester has been a doozie... especially since I've started Photoshop. But these past couple weeks have been super hard/crazy for me. I can't wait until Tuesday evening at 8pm... I will be on summer break!!! I have been holding my "A" in Human Anatomy and think I can end the semester with it. I just need 300 more points and we still have 420 floating out there with a lab practical tonight and one last lecture exam Monday and 2 lecture quizzes. I think I can do it, but honestly if I end with a "B" I won't kill myself. I'm to the point I just need to finish so I can be a good mom & wife again.
Right now I just want to be done... on Sunday our main computer crashed!!! That held the CS3 program I needed to do my homework for Photoshop at home, so now I have to go into the lab at school and do it. Which was fine because I only needed to finish a couple of projects, but that was until last night when I left my jump drive at school in the computer and I don't know if I'll be able to get it back. My teacher so kindly went in an checked for me today, but he didn't see it, so now I have to go scour the school in any place it might have been turned in. But knowing people nowadays... I feel like I'll never see it again. So that means I have to re-do everything I have put so many hours into! The thought makes me tired and right now I just don't care (unfortunately). But I'm too tired to care anymore. I just need this class to be over. So I have to leave even earlier tonight for school to go on a hunt for my jumpdrive and hope for the best. I'm going to go with a prayer in my heart and hope that if it's meant to be I'll get it back... so any prayers in my behalf would be much appreciated right now. I have many things I want to blog about, but I won't have the time until next Wednesday... so until then...
HAVE A FABULOUS WEEK!!!
