I just got this e-mail today and it makes me so sad.
I remember this "dive girl" sign from my early days
Tuesday's weather brought on her demise.
I haven't driven by yet,
but now I have to go see for myself!
Do any of you have memories of her???

we were just going to do a blog post on it. I had no idea until I was driving down Main yesterday. I kept looking for her, and then noticed her laying in the parking lot. So sad.
(I even called the Starlite hotel to see what they were planning to do. The manager didn't know.)
I knew as a young girl when we passed that we were almost to K-Mart. Now I will never know when I am getting to K-Mart!
Oh my gosh!! The diving lady is gone?!?! Sad, sad day. :(
I drove by her tonight, I didn't tell my kids to see if they would notice...they did. Such a sad thing.
She is gone?! That was my favorite drive as a little kid in the car at night. I'm sure my parents were waiting for us to fall asleep but we were waiting to see the girl dive out of the sky!
