Pat's Run

So Chuck finally talked me into doing a Run with him. We have done Pat's Run in the past, but I did the walk part. I have never been a runner, but for the sake of my hubby, because this is something he enjoys, I decided to go for it. My only stipulation was that I got to pick the pace and I could walk when I needed to and get running again when I was ready. So I set myself a goal in mind that I wanted to finish the run in under 60 min (this is a 4.2 mile course) and Chuck gave us a stretch goal of 50 min. At the 1st mile marker we were at 11 min... I thought OK I can do this... and then mile marker 2 we were around 23 min... I'm gonna make it... So we just kept going and mile marker 3 I think we were at 36 min... no problem ending by 60 min... the last mile was probably the hardest for me but I finished (at 52 min) and I felt GREAT!!! I'm sore now, but I think I will participate in more runs... probably only 5k's for now. But I felt a sense of accomplishment. One of those NSV (non-scale victories) I can celebrate!

Thanks Chuck for pushing me and being there for me!

YOU ARE THE GREATEST! LOVE YOU!

Way to go! What a great accomplishment. I hate running--so I'm always amazed by people who do it and enjoy it. Good for you for getting such great time, too!

Wow, I have never gotten the guts to do a run like that. I need to. Way to go! I think I need to really work on the 'wholesome family recreational activity' stuff. Ryan used to do runs with his dad when he was little and has great memories. I want to be that kind of family. Maybe next year we will join you.

That is awesone! You have every right to be way proud of your accomplishment. Seriously, anyone who can run after having babies gets props in my book.
